Is Scottie Scheffler playing in the Genesis Scottish Open 2024? Availability explored

The 2024 season has been highly successful for Scottie Scheffler. This season, Scheffler has won six events until now including one major. In his last event on the PGA Tour, the 28-year-old golfer carded a score of 65-64-64-65-4 to beat Tom Kim in the playoff and win the Travelers Championship.

Since this victory, Scheffler has not played professional golf, which leads to questions about whether he will play at the upcoming Genesis Scottish Open. The answer to this question is no. The upcoming Genesis Scottish Open which will begin on July 11th won't feature the 2024 Masters Winner.

During the Travelers Championship, Scheffler in an interview with Daily Express detailed he would be playing The Open Championship and the last three playoff events. Scheffler also said he thinks he will be on the President's Cup team after which he hopes to take a break. Speaking about mental fatigue, Scheffler said:

"I think mentally fatigued. I think with golf, the physical aspect of it is something you can really train for. The mental part is, I would say, more difficult to train for."

While Scottie Scheffler will be absent at the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open, the event will feature other big names like Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and Viktor Hovland to name a few. The event will take place at The Renaissance Club between July 11 and July 14.
