20-yo Luke Clanton is ‘still pinching’ himself after a strong start to his PGA Tour career at John Deere Classic

Florida State's Luke Clanton is having an amazing week at the 2024 John Deere Classic. Clanton, who is playing as an amateur, carded 16-under at the TPC Deere Run golf course after three rounds to be placed in T6 ahead of the final round on Sunday.

After the conlcusion of Round 3 at the 2024 John Deere Classic, Clanton spoke in an interview about his spectacular performance at the 2024 John Deere Classic. Clanton said he was pinching himself to make sure he wasn't dreaming. The amateur golfer said:

"This is unbelievable. I am not going to lie to you. I'm still a little kid basically, watching these guys play golf. I kindalook upto these dudes. And to be able to play with them, and actually watch them in person hit golf shots is pretty nuts. Still trying to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming. It's awesome man. I mean, being out here, everything is pretty sweet for sure. Look at what I am doing, I'm playing golf right now on the PGA Tour. It's pretty nuts."

While Clanton is tied with J.J. Spaun and Michael Thorbjornsen, the current leader of the 2024 John Deere Classic is Davis Thompson, who scored 21-under to secure first place. Thompson is being trailed by Eric Cole and Aaron Rai who are in T2 with a score of 19-under.
