After The Open Championship 2024, the PGA Tour moves to the 2024 3M Open. The sixth edition of the event will be held at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota from July 25 to 28.
156 players are in the field for the 2024 3M Open with four of them having qualified for the tournament through the Monday qualifier.
The four players to qualify are Jackson Markham, Cooper Musselman, Anthony Maccaglia and Robert Streb. Markham and Maccaglia will be playing their first PGA Tour event. Here's a look at the qualifiers one by one.
Four players who qualified for the 3M Open
#1 Jackson Markham
Jackson Markham was on the top of the leaderboard among the 59 golfers who teed up at Victory Links GC in Minnesota to qualify for the 3M Open. Markham carded 7-under 64 in the qualifier. He started with a bogey on the first hole but notched eight birdies in the remaining 17.
The 26-year-old was born in San Francisco, California and now resides in Dallas, Texas. He went to college at Southern Methodist University.
Markham turned professional in 2020 and joined the PGA Tour Latinoamerica in 2023. He has played 11 events on the tour and made the cut in four of them. He finished 100th on the Totalplay Cup standings.
#2 Anthony Maccaglia
Maccaglia tied for second in the Monday qualifier for the 3M Open at Victory Links GC. He scored 6-under 65, with six birdies and a bogey on the front nine and four birdies and three bogeys on the back nine.
Maccaglia hails from Alpharetta, Georgia and plays from Tampa, Florida. He went to college at Oglethorpe University. The 30-year-old turned professional in 2015 and joined the PGA Tour Canada in 2022.
He has made 11 cuts in his 26 starts including a runner-up finish at the 2019 Windsor Championship.
#3 Cooper Musselman
Cooper Musselman tied for second with Maccaglia at Victory Links GC. He scored an eagle, five birdies and a bogey in the round to finish with a score of 6-under 65.
The 29-year-old hails from Louisville, Kentucky and went to high school at Saint Xavier High School where he played with Justin Thomas, graduating in 2011, two years before Thomas. He then studied at the University of Kentucky, turning professional in 2019. He has played in four events on the PGA Tour with his best finish being T31 at the 2024 ISCO Championship.
He joined the Korn Ferry Tour in 2019 and made cuts in 13 of his 28 starts. He has also played in 25 events on the PGA Tour Canada and made cuts in 19 of them. Musselman has had three top-10 finishes outside the PGA Tour with his best a runner-up at the 2022 Osprey Valley Open where he lost to Danny Walker.
#4 Robert Streb
Robert Streb scored a bogey-free 5-under 66 with five birdies. He was tied at T4 with Tyler Strafaci, Beau Forest, Brian Dwyer and Jack Ebner. Streb survived a 5-for-1 playoff to win his spot for the 3M Open.
Streb's hometown is Chickasha, Oklahoma but he resides in Shawnee, Kansas. He turned professional in 2009. He has two PGA Tour wins with three runner-up finishes and five top-10 finishes. He has played in five editions of the 3M Open with his best performance being T11 in 2022.
