About 3M Open 2024
One of the most-awaited golf tournaments, the 3M Open 2024, is all set to take place at TPC Twin Cities in Bilane, a beautiful suburb in the north of Minneapolis. Though the 3M Open is very highly regarded compared to the other tournaments, which took place in 2018 for the first time, since then, it's been a staple at the greens of TPC Twin Cities. The event's primary sponsor is the Minnesota-based business 3M. It replaced the 3M Championship, hosted at TPC Twin Cities from 2001 to 2018 and was a PGA Tour Champions event for 26 years (1993–2018).

The 3M Open History
Every year since 2018, the TPC Twin Cities in Blaine has been hosting the 3M Open tournament. Originally, in 1993, the Burnet Senior Classic was held at the nearby Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids. After eight tournaments, in 2001, the 3M took over sponsorship of the competition and moved to the newly opened TPC Twin Cities. With a total prize of $1.75 million in 2017, the winner received $262,500. One of the tournament's attractions was the "Greats of Golf Challenge," an exhibition scramble held on Saturday between teams comprising both women and men Hall of Fame golfers.

The 3M Open 2024 Course
The 3M Open originally took place in 1993 as the Burnet Senior Classic, and it was famously held at the Bunker Hills Golf Course in nearby Coon Rapids. But since then, a lot of changes have taken place! It is no longer called Burnet Senior Classic but is known as 3M Open, and it's no longer played in Bunker Hills Golf Course. All these changes took place in 2001, when 3M took over as sponsor.
Since 2001, the 3M Open has been hosted at TPC Twin Cities. The private golf club TPC Twin Cities is located in the suburb of Blaine, Minnesota, north of Minneapolis. The Tom Lehman-consultant Arnold Palmer designed course debuted in 2000. The par-72 course is 7,164 yards long from the back tees. With a slope rating of 143, the course rating is 75.4.
