“Screw it and let’s just hit it” - Max Greyserman details his gutsy shot on the 18th hole en route to his career-best finish at 3M Open

Max Greyserman shared his thoughts on his impressive shot on the concluding 18th hole during the 2024 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota. The PGA Tour event concluded on Sunday, July 28 with Greyserman finishing in second place.

He shot a 63 in the final round, jumping 16 positions on the leaderboard and finishing just one stroke behind the winner, Jhonattan Vegas.

Greyserman's first shot landed behind a line of trees, making it challenging to reach the fairway. However, he skillfully managed to hit a gutsy shot, sending the ball straight to the fairway. He came close to making an eagle on his third shot, but the ball stopped just 2 feet 2 inches from the hole.

He then took his fourth shot, securing a birdie on the hole. This marked his best finish on the PGA Tour.

After the event, Max Greyserman spoke about his performance in an interview with SiriusXM, revealing that a good shot on the 18th was his only chance to win the event. He explained that he tried his best to seize the opportunity and turned the situation in his favor. He said (via SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio):

"We're here to win, right? So the only chance we have to win is we just have to say, screw it and let's just hit it."

Meanwhile, Jhonattan Vegas shot a 70 in the final round of the 3M Open, emerging victorious. Matt Kuchar and Maverick McNealy tied for third place, followed by Taylor Pendrith, who finished in fifth place.

A look at Max Greyserman's performance at 3M Open

Max Greyserman started the 3M Open with a first-round 1-under 70. He teed off on the tenth hole, making a birdie, an eagle and a bogey on the front nine. He added two double bogeys and three birdies on the back nine.
