2024 LIV Golf Dallas head-to-head quarterfinal matchups for day 1 explored

The 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship kicks off this Friday, September 20 at Maridoe Golf Club in Dallas, Texas, and everything is in place for the first day. This Thursday, the quarterfinal matchups were announced for teams ranked 4-13.

The top four teams chose their opponents, while the fifth pairing included the remaining two teams. The matchups are as follows:

The LIV Golf captains then announced how the matches for each pairing would be arranged. There will be two singles matches and one foursomes match with the following distribution:

All matches begin at 10:15 am Eastern Time. The format established for the LIV Golf Team Championship is that each match awards one point to the winner, and the team with two points wins the match.

Teams ranked 1-3 (Crushers GC, Legion XIII and Ripper GC) in the season standings will advance directly to the semifinals and await the five winners of the quarterfinals.

How teams get to the LIV Golf Team Championship

Three of the eight groups advancing to the quarterfinals of the LIV Golf Team Championship had at least one win during the regular season. Smash GC won two, while Fireballs GC and Cleeks GC each won one.

The battle for fourth place of the LIV Golf season was so close that Torque GC edged out Fireball GC by just 0.17 points. The team, captained by Joaquin Niemann, achieved this result despite not winning a title thanks to its 11 top-5 finishes, including three podiums.

IronHeads GC and Majesticks GC finished the season without a podium finish. HyFlyers GC and 4Aces GC finished the season with only one podium finish each.
