Chilean professional golfer Joaquin Niemann was born to Jorge Niemann and Pamela Zenteno on November 7, 1998, in Santiago, Chile. Both of his parents are athletes in basketball and hockey, respectively. Joaquin also has three brothers and two sisters.
Niemann started his journey as a golfer at a very young age. He decided to play golf at the University of South Florida but finally failed to get entry there because of his TOEFL scores. Joaquin Niemann’s Professional Career
Niemann became professional and played his first professional tournament at the Valero Texas Open in 2018 and finished 6th there. During his impressive golf career, he won 9 professional tournaments, including 2 PGA Tour and 7 Chilean Tour. He is also a former player on the European Tour but plays in LIV Golf. As of April 10, 2022, he reached his peak with 15th rank in the Official World Golf Ranking. Joaquin Niemann started playing the game of golf when he was aged two. His father bought him some plastic clubs for playing. Since then, he has played various golf events to develop his playing strategy and skills. Having a successful amateur career in golf, Joaquin has achieved several accomplishments. During these days, he held the top place as an amateur golfer for 44 weeks in the World Amateur Golf Ranking from May 2017 to April 2018.
Some of his amateur wins include Campeonato Sudamericano Pre Juvenil (2013), Abierto Club de Polo San Cristóbal (2014), Junior Orange Bowl Championship (2015), Junior Golf World Cup (2016), TaylorMade-Adidas Golf Junior at Innisbrook (2017) and Latin America Amateur Championship in 2018.
Niemann became professional and played his first professional tournament at the Valero Texas Open in 2018 and finished 6th there. After finishing 5th at The Greenbrier, he earned his PGA Tour card for the 2018-19 season. In 2019, he became the first Chile golfer to win the PGA Tour after securing his first victory in the PGA Tour at The Greenbrier. In the same year, he also competed at the Presidents Cup (2019) in Australia and his team won 16-14. He tied for 23rd position in the 2020 U.S. Open. In 2021, Niemann finished second position by one stroke at the Sony Open in Hawaii. In the year 2022, he won his second professional victory on the PGA Tour at Genesis Invitational by two strokes ahead of Cameron Young and Collin Morikawa.
During the month of August in the following year, Joaquin joined LIV Golf. In 2023, he competed with his best in the Masters Tournament and finished T-16 there.
