Day 2 of the 2024 Presidents Cup ended with the International Team returning the embarrassment they faced on Day 1. Mike Wier’s side replied to Team USA’s dominating 5-0 lead with an efficient clean sweep on Friday at The Royal Montreal Golf Club in Quebec, Canada. Stellar performances from the non-US stars saw the scores settled at 5-5.
Day 3 of the Presidents Cup will begin at 7:02 am ET on Saturday. Following a mix-up in the pairings, Scottie Scheffler is set to tee off alongside Collin Morikawa early in the day. The duo will take on Taylor Pendrith and Adam Scott, who set the record for most points gained at Presidents Cups (22) on Friday.
The US pairing of Tony Finau and Xander Schauffele will follow suit at 7:20 am. They will take on Canadians Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes. Meanwhile, International sides’ round 2 heroes Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim will tee off together at 7:38 am. They will face the pairing of Wyndham Clark and Keegan Bradley, returning to the field after a day’s rest.

For the uninitiated, the matchups for the 2024 Presidents Cup are made using the “snake draw” format. Furyk and Weir take turns setting their pairings for the four-ball matches and are forced to leave some players on the bench.
Owing to the limited slots, the US side has decided to leave Max Homa, Russel Henley, Brian Harman, and Sahith Theegala on the sidelines for Saturday. Meanwhile, the Internationals have Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Jason Day, Byeong Hun An, and Min Woo Lee on the bench for the third round of the competition.
