The 2024 Hero World Challenge is set to take place from December 5 to 8 at Albany Golf Course in the Bahamas. The event will feature 20 prominent players competing for a purse of $4,500,000.
The field includes familiar names such as Scottie Scheffler, Tony Finau, and Tom Kim, along with eight debutants. Additionally, Justin Thomas, Jason Day, and Nick Dunlap have earned exemptions to participate in the event.

5 big names not competing at the Hero World Challenge
1) Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods announced his unavailability at his hosted event on Monday, November 25.
He is a five-time winner here and has also finished second five other times.
2) Viktor Hovland
Viktor Hovland, a two-time winner at Albany, is set to miss the action this time. He had an average season with only two top-10 finishes and no wins.
3) Jon Rahm
Jon Rahm is another top name not competing at the Albany Golf Club. He won the title in 2018, defeating Tony Finau by a four-stroke margin. However, since joining the LIV Golf circuit, he is no longer eligible to compete in PGA Tour-sanctioned events.
Rahm was last seen competing at the LIV Golf Chicago, where he claimed the title as well as the Individual Championship.
4) Jordan Spieth
Jordan Spieth is another regular name who will miss the Albany event this time. He has played the event nine times in his career and has recorded five top-10 finishes. Spieth won the tournament in 2015, defeating Henrik Stenson by a 10-stroke margin.
5) Henrik Stenson
Henrik Stenson is another golfer who is not eligible to play at the Hero World Challenge. He has made eight starts at Albany Golf Club and recorded six top-10 finishes.
Stenson claimed the championship in 2020, defeating Jon Rahm by a one-stroke margin. Further, he finished as the runner-up in 2014 and 2016.
