Amanda Balionis, who is on-site covering the 2025 RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto, shared a lively moment from Saturday’s (June 7) round. In an Instagram story, the CBS Sports reporter posted a clip of Mackenzie Hughes walking out to cheers, captioning it:
"Mackenzie Hughes getting the crowds going on a PERFECT Saturday at the @rbccanadianopen"

Hughes gave local fans plenty of reasons to cheer with an impressive third-round performance. The 34-year-old Canadian made four birdies and two bogeys on the front nine to go out in 33 strokes. On the back nine, he added four more birdies to finish the day at 6-under 64. After three rounds, Hughes sits tied for sixth on the leaderboard.
In his opening round on Thursday, June 5, he posted a score of 68. He made two birdies, two bogeys, and an eagle on the par-4 fifth to finish 2-under par. On Friday, June 6, Hughes followed it up with a solid round of 66, making five birdies and one bogey on the par-4 10th to go 4-under for the day.
Hughes heads into the final round well-placed and will aim to finish strong in front of his home crowd. Matteo Manassero and Ryan Fox currently lead the tournament, both at 14-under par.
Amanda Balionis shared a list of propaganda she refuses to buy into this summer
Before reaching TPC Toronto for her coverage duties at the RBC Canadian Open, Amanda Balionis took a moment to share a light-hearted reel with her 352k Instagram followers. Captured during a travel delay, the video showed her seated comfortably with large headphones on, reflecting on things she’s choosing to ignore this summer.
Titled “Propaganda I won’t be falling for,” the reel was paired with a caption that read:
“Stuck at the airport and had some thoughts on the propaganda I absolutely won’t be falling for this summer. What am I missing?! Did any of these resonate with you? I promise to read these comments "
Here’s what made her personal do-not-follow list
- crash diets for summer (consistency not perfection ❤️)
- keeping score on the course ⛳
- only focusing on what I need to work on, not celebrating the good
- reading the comments
- reading books on kindle only 📚 (real book summer ya’ll!)
- saving the great outfit or great wine. Wear it, drink it 🥂
Away from the cameras, Amanda Balionis maintains a strong focus on fitness and wellness. She often gives fans a glimpse into her workout routines and healthy habits. Since March 2024, she’s made Ka’Chava, a superfood meal shake, part of her daily nutrition. In one of her posts, she shared:
"From workouts to work mode and everything in between, @kachava keeps me fueled, focused, and feeling my best 100"
The shake has become her go-to for staying energized through busy travel and tournament schedules.
Meanwhile, Amanda Balionis was expected to meet Rory McIlroy at the RBC Canadian Open, following a subtle jab she made during the PGA Championship when the Northern Irishman avoided all media duties. However, a meeting never happened as McIlroy exited early after missing the cut on Friday.
