LIV Golf's Anthony Kim reacted to Brandel Chamblee's recent social media post slamming Phil Mickelson. Chamblee, who is widely known for his harsh remarks about LIV Golf, shared a post on his X account on Sunday, June 8, discussing the Saudi league and its golfers, including Phil Mickelson.
He slammed the six-time Major winner and his "LIV compatriots", saying that their "presence in major championships is likely attended by a sense of urgency."
Nuclr Golf shared Brandel Chamblee's tweet on its X account, which was later reshared by Anthony Kim, who wrote:
"We all can like or dislike whoever we want but at least @PhilMickelson kids still talk to him🤷♂️. Have a great @usopengolf brandy"
Meanwhile, Chamblee in his tweet wrote:
"Phil Mickelson has mastered the public art in which self-righteousness congratulates the celebrator. He and his LIV compatriots, all of them subject to the dramatic irony of having resigned themselves to play purely for money—not for history or for their respective countries—but purely for money, and now present to virtually no purpose, their presence in major championships is likely attended by a sense of urgency, the exact opposite no doubt, of the lack of urgency at LIV events."
Notably, this week, the golfers are preparing for the 2025 US Open. The Third Major of the year is scheduled from June 12 to 15 at the Oakmont Golf Course. Mickelson is hunting for the title to complete his career grand slam this week.
Phil Mickelson steals the spotlight at LIV Golf Virginia ahead of the 2025 US Open
Before the US Open, the Saudi League players competed at the 2025 LIV Golf Virginia, which was held from June 6 to 8. Phil Mickelson garnered attention with his remarkable shot from a bunker on the 17th hole on the final day of the event. He took a difficult shot from the edge of a bunker and surprisingly made a birdie on the hole.
On Monday, June 9, the six-time Major winner even shared a video of his impressive shot on his X account, writing:
"Here’s just a little sprinkle of magic to end the weekend"
Phil Mickelson settled in T4 at the event. Mickelson has started his campaign at the LIV Golf Virginia with an opening round of 4-under and then played the next two rounds of 3-under and 6-under. He settled with a total of 13-under. Joaquin Niemann won the tournament.
It was an amazing outing for Mickelson ahead of the US Open. In the last two Majors this year, he had a tough time on the greens and missed the cut. It would be interesting to see how things would unfold for him this week at the US Open.
