Since turning professional in 2009, Billy Horschel has been a regular feature on the PGA Tour. While he has also won events on the tour, Horschel has developed a reputation for playing in some of the toughest conditions the continent of Europe has to offer.Amid Horschel's splendid run at the ongoing Open Championship, bunkered Golf Magazine writer Ben Parson posted a tweet in which he recollected what the former had to say about playing in tough European conditions while most American golfers stayed home.Horschel said:"My coach Buddy Alexander said if you want to be considered a world-class player you have to go and play around the world, and you've got to play well. It's made me a better player going to places I haven't been before, adjusting to the conditions, temperatures, and all the different ways the courses are set up compared to America. At the same time, as a person, having to communicate and get along and understand people from other countries, it's a growth in itself."In his professional golf career, Horschel has registered two wins on the European Tour. His first win came in 2021 when he won at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, and his second win came in September 2021 when he won the BMW PGA Championship.A look at Billy Horschel's position after Round 3 at The Open ChampionshipBilly Horschel in Round 3 of The Open Championship [USA Today]Here is a detailed look at the leaderboard after Round 3 of The Open Championship at The Royal Troon Golf Course:1 Billy Horschel -4T2 Sam Burns -3T2 Thriston Lawrence -3T2 Russell Henley -3T2 Xander Schauffele -3T2 Justin Rose -3T2 Daniel Brown -38 Scottie Scheffler -29 Shane Lowry -1T10 Adam Scott ET10 Justin Thomas ET10 Matthew Jordan ET13 Sungjae Im +1T13 Byeong Hun An +1T15 Shubhankar Sharma +2T15 Daniel Hillier +2T15 John Catlin +2T15 Sean Crocker +2T15 Chris Kirk +2T15 Laurie Canter +2T15 Alex Noren +2T15 Dustin Johnson +2T15 Jon Rahm +2T15 Collin Morikawa +2T25 Matteo Manassero +3T25 Brendon Todd +3T25 Calum Scott (a) +3T25 Padraig Harrington +3T25 Gary Woodland +3T25 Minkyu Kim +3T25 Patrick Cantlay +3T25 Dean Burmester +3T33 Ewen Ferguson +4T33 Cameron Young +4T33 Joe Dean +4T33 Eric Cole +4T33 Emiliano Grillo +4T33 Sepp Straka +4T33 Jason Day +4T40 Max Homa +5T40 Abraham Ancer +5T40 Si Woo Kim +5T40 Davis Thompson +5T40 Matt Wallace +5T40 Brian Harman +5T40 Austin Eckroat +5T40 Adrian Meronk +5T40 Tom Hoge +5T40 Mackenzie Hughes +5T40 Joaquín Niemann +5T51 Guido Migliozzi +6T51 Harris English +6T51 Jacob Skov Olesen (a) +6T51 Phil Mickelson +6T51 Alex Cejka +6T51 Robert MacIntyre +6T51 Jordan Spieth +6T51 Nicolai Højgaard +6T59 Kurt Kitayama +7T59 Richard Mansell +7T59 Rasmus Højgaard +7T62 Jorge Campillo +8T62 Matt Fitzpatrick +8T62 Thorbjørn Olesen +8T62 Marcel Siem +8T62 Matthieu Pavon +8T62 Jeunghun Wang +8T62 Brooks Koepka +8T62 Corey Conners +8T70 Rickie Fowler +9T70 Tommy Morrison (a) +9T70 Hideki Matsuyama +9T70 Aaron Rai +9T70 Ryan Fox +9T70 Tom McKibbin +9T76 Darren Clarke +11T76 Young-han Song +11T78 Luis Masaveu (a) +13T78 Andy Ogletree +1380 Darren Fichardt +15
