Brandel Chamblee again criticized LIV Golf in a recent social media post. The golf analyst has been an avid supporter of the PGA Tour while critical of the Saudi league. He is pretty active on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), where he boasts 262.9K followers.
On Wednesday, June 11, a fan jumped into Chamblee's post's comment section, questioning why he "viciously attacks" LIV Golf. The fan in the comment section also praised LIV Golf and highlighted the things that have changed since the inception of the Saudi league. The fan wrote:
"1 Innovation to the game of golf and especially the media product of golf (I.e. embrace of social media and golfing format), 2) Grown the game globally (I.e. not just North American events with the same course layout), 3) Driven the failing PGA tour to improve their operations (I.e. revenue split with players and venues) and 4) Allowed players to benefit from their name image and likeness (i.e. just like in the NCAA)?"
Brandel Chamblee replied to the fan, critical of the Saudi league, writing:
"1) Because it’s funded by a dictatorial murderer 2) The product stinks Do you need any more reasons?"
Meanwhile, this week, the LIV Golfers are gearing up to compete at the US Open 2025. Fourteen LIV players are playing in the Major at Oakmont Country Club, including the defending Champion Bryson DeChambeau and six-time major winner Phil Mickelson.
Brandel Chamblee slams Phil Mickelson and his 'LIV compatriots'
Last week, Brandel Chamblee shared a post on his X account criticizing the Saudi league. He replied to a fan who asked him if he watches the LIV Golf event.
In response, the former golfer shared a long post criticizing Phil Mickelson and his LIV compatriots for playing in the Saudi league. He wrote:
"Phil Mickelson has mastered the public art in which self-righteousness congratulates the celebrator. He and his LIV compatriots, all of them subject to the dramatic irony of having resigned themselves to play purely for money—not for history or for their respective countries—but purely for money, and now present to virtually no purpose, their presence in major championships is likely attended by a sense of urgency, the exact opposite no doubt, of the lack of urgency at LIV events."
Later, LIV golfer Anthony Kim reacted to Chamblee's post on his X account, writing:
"We all can like or dislike whoever we want but at least @PhilMickelson kids still talk to him Have a great @usopengolf brandy"
Kim took a personal dig at Chamblee, who shares four kids with his ex-wife Karen. He is currently married to television personality Bailey Mosier.
The former PGA Tour pro even shared his wishes for Chamblee for the 2025 US Open, the third Major of the year. The tournament is scheduled to take place at the Oakmont Country Club from Thursday, June 12, to Sunday, June 15.
