The 2024 Hero World Challenge is set to tee off on Thursday, December 5, at the Albany Golf Course in the Bahamas. The event, hosted by Tiger Woods, will see a stacked 20-player field compete for the $1,000,000 winner’s paycheck from the event’s $5,000,000 prize purse. The tournament field is headlined by reigning champion Scottie Scheffler.Unsurprisingly, Scheffler is the favorite to defend his Hero World Challenge title this weekend. The World No. 1 golfer comes into the Bahamas competition with 22-1 odds, according to SportsLine. Justin Thomas, who entered the competition on sponsor exemption, and debutant Ludvig Aberg sits behind the leader with 100-1 odds.It is pertinent to note that Scheffler will tee it up at the Hero World Challenge after a long break from competitive golf. The reigning FedExCup champion’s last appearance on the circuit came at the Tour Championship in August.Notably, the 28-year-old golfer is deemed to be in-form, owing to his stellar season so far. For the unversed, Scheffler has won seven from 19 events in the 2024 PGA Tour season, including The Masters. Here's a look at Scottie Scheffler’s 2024 PGA Tour season:The Sentry - T5The American Express - T17AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - T6WM Phoenix Open - T3The Genesis Invitational - T10Arnold Palmer Invitational - 1THE PLAYERS Championship - 1Texas Children's Houston Open - T2Masters Tournament - 1RBC Heritage - 1PGA Championship - T8Charles Schwab Challenge - T2the Memorial Tournament - 1U.S. Open - T41Travelers Championship - 1The Open - T7FedEx St. Jude Championship - 4BMW Championship - T33TOUR Championship - 1Apart from this, Scheffler also won the Olympic Men's Golf Competition held at Le Golf National, France, in August.2024 Hero World Challenge oddsScheffler is followed by Thomas and Aberg on the odds list.
