Holmqvist has missed the Amundi Evian Championship, CPKC Women's Open, ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open and the ongoing AIG Women's Open.

Talking about her recent hiatus from the LPGA Tour via her X handle, Dani Holmqvist said that the reason for her hiatus is recurring back and nerve injuries. She wrote:

"Hi, I just wanted to give you an update, I have not been able to compete on the LPGA tour lately due to recurring back and nerve injuries. August was the first time I was able to swing my clubs in 8 weeks, and reuniting with them feels so good!"

Holmqvist had also missed most of the 2019 season due to a back injury. However, she seemed optimistic about her return to the golf course in 2025 and added,

"With the hard work I dedicated to my rehab (both physically and mentally), and with the support from my sponsors and team, I will be back fitter, stronger and ready to compete in 2025! Thank you for all of the support and encouragement, can’t wait to see you all out on the course soon!"
