“Don’t get all uppity if people object when you come back” - 3x Augusta Masters champion hits back at LIV rebels

Former English professional golfer Nick Faldo, who has won the Masters Tournament three times, made quirky remarks about LIV Golf players competing in the 2023 Masters.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Faldo hit back at LIV rebels and said that they shouldn't object to others questioning their participation at the iconic event.

"I've got nothing against these guys, the grass is greener on the other side and all that. But don't get all uppity if people object when you come back."

Nick Faldo, who is set to commentate for Sky Sports in the upcoming 2023 Augusta Masters, recently bid adieu to CBS TV network after a 16-year stint with them.

The organizers of the Augusta Masters recently announced that 17 LIV golf players have been invited to participate as they qualify through the eligibility requirements. These players include Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Cameron Smith, and Bubba Watson,

However, the golf fraternity was split on whether LIV golfers should be allowed into the Masters as they had left the PGA Tour. Nick Faldo feels that he does not have the same stance as the Masters' organizers.

“Hey, if you want to go and do something different, fine! But this [participating in the 2023 Masters] is a bit like: You had a job in a store and now you've got a new one, then you're calling the store demanding you get a bonus."

Faldo also spoke about the poor viewership attained by LIV Golf in its second season.

"All this 'We're going to supercharge the excitement'. Well, we haven’t seen any excitement because nobody's watching."
