Former Masters champion Trevor Immelman lauded Si Woo Kim’s approach to the 2025 US Open. After Si Woo Kim completed the first round of the US Open, the golfer joined a post-round press conference.
In the presser, Kim was asked about his preparation for Oakmont this week, and he responded (via ASAP Sports):
“It was tough. I played three nine holes, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and I saw the past scores, like 5-over win. Honestly, I don't even know what I'm doing on the course. Kind of hitting good but feel like this course is too hard for me. So kind of like no expectation, but I played great today.”
A clip of this press conference was shared by the US Open’s X page, and the post was reshared by Immelman with a caption:
“So Woo is the best….hilarious dude.”
In the same presser, Kim shared about his experience of playing the first round of the tournament, and his words were:
"it was a good start and then didn't even windy much this morning, so that's why I played, I feel like, more easier because I played the last couple days kind of like hard wind. It kind of feel helpful for me. I started great, so I drive it great, so I think it helps really, kept the good scoring, this course. Yeah, it was a good round"
Si Woo Kim will play with Patrick Cantlay and Lucas Glover in the second round of the US Open at 1:36 pm ET on hole one. Next to them, Cameron Smith, Brian Harman, and Phil Mickelson will start at 1:47 pm ET on the same hole. Will Chandler, Andrea Pavan, and Takumi Kanaya are the first group to play at 6:45 am ET.
