Patrick Cantlay, an American professional golfer, was born in Long Beach, California, on March 17, 1992, to Steve and Colleen Cantlay. He built interest in the game of golf when he was just 3. His father, Steve is also a golfer, who was Patrick’s first and foremost personal golf trainer. Besides golf, Patrick loves to play ping pong, watch movies, and read books.

Having an impressive amateur career in golf, Patrick held the number one position for 55 weeks in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Apart from this, he has had several remarkable successes in golf. Some of his incredible victories are given below:

Patrick showed his valuable interest in golf from a very young age. During his amateur career, he held the number one position for 55 weeks in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. During his freshman year, he had won several golf tournaments. In the journey to become a professional, he set his mind to forgo his final two years of college in 2012. But he missed the cut at Travelers Championship in the same year, which was his first professional debut.


In 2016, when Cantlay and his caddie Chris Roth were out on the town, Chris was killed in a hit-and-run accident while crossing an intersection. This incident affected his mental health so much which caused him to take a long break from golf. In 2017, he began his journey and with a runner-up finish at the Valspar Championship, Patrick regained his PGA Tour card.


In 2018, he won at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, which was his first PGA Tour title. He won the Memorial Tournament in 2019 and 2020. Following this, he won the Zozo Championship on October 25, 2020, and the BMW Championship in 2021 and 2022 both.
