Golf at 2024 Paris Olympics: Round 2 tee times and pairings explored

Day 1 of the 2024 Olympics golf men’s competition ended with Hideki Matsuyama in the lead. The Japanese golfer shot an 8-under 63 on Thursday at Le Golf National in Paris. The 32-year-old ended up with a two-stroke lead over defending champion Xander Schauffele.

Round 2 of the Olympics golf will begin at 3:00 am ET on Friday with China’s Carl Yuan, Colombian Camilo Villegas and Italy’s Matteo Manassero on the first tee. The pairing of Poland’s Adrian Meronk, Finland’s Sami Valimaki and Spain’s David Puig will follow suit at 3:11 am.

South Africa's Erik van Rooyen, Japan’s Keita Nakajima and Chinese Taipei’s Kevin Yu follow them at 3:22 am.

Round 1 leader Matsuyama will tee off at 5:44 am ET alongside Team USA’s Wyndham Clark and Great Britain’s Tommy Fleetwood. The trio will follow the grouping of Aussie Min Woo Lee, Canadian Corey Conners and South African Christiaan Bezuidenhout, teeing up at 5:33 am.

It is pertinent to note that golf at the Olympics does not have the traditional 36-hole cut despite being a 72-hole event. All golfers on the 60-man leaderboard will advance to the next round. The players, from 32 different countries, are competing for the gold, silver and bronze medals, to be awarded on Sunday.
