Hideki Matsuyama, a well-known Japanese professional golfer, was born in Matsuyama, Ehime, Japan, on February 25, 1992, to Mikio and Megumi Matsuyama. Hideki spent his childhood at a boarding school. Later, Hideki transferred to Gijiku Junior and Senior High School seeking better opportunities, where he developed his golfing skills by attending some school golf tournaments. At the age of eighteen, he won the Asian Amateur Golf Championship while studying at Tohoku Fukushi University. His father, Mikio Matsuyama, is the one who introduced Hideki to the game of golf. He peaked in 2017 with the second position in Official World Golf Rankings. As a professional golfer, Hideki plays on the PGA Tour in recent times.


Hideki Matsuyama’s Amateur Golf Career

Having an impressive amateur career in golf, Hideki secured his victory at the Asian Amateur Championship in 2010 and won the Silver Cup.
