Max Homa has become a fan-favorite on the PGA Tour over the years. The 32-year-old golfer, famous for his fun-loving attitude, is also a serial winner. Having won six times on the PGA Tour, the golfer remains hungry for more.

While most fans are aware of Homa's ’exciting' persona, not many know that he is also a perfectionist. According to his friends and fellow players, the American is "obsessed with improving" his game. So much so, that Homa’s caddie and right-hand man, Joe Greiner, calls him a "golf dork." He claimed that people would struggle to find a harder-working player on the American circuit.

Speaking about Max Homa and his work ethic, Caddie Greiner said, as quoted by Golf:

“He’s a golf dork. And he likes it that way.”

Greiner went on to explain that Homa’s obsession with improvement often leads him to help others as well. According to the caddie, the golfer is more patient with others’ game.

He added:

“When we’re not at a tournament, Max will hit me up, asking for videos of my putting stroke. You come to town and he’ll pick you up at the airport. And, like, Joe Skovron will be shooting 80, and Max will be grinding on Joe’s golf swing or consulting on one of his putt reads. That’s not common.”

Xander Schauffele lauds 'Max Homa the perfectionist'

Xander Schauffele, PGA Tour star and one of Max Homa’s closest friends on the Tour, also lauds Homa’s mindset. Praising his friend’s commitment, the world No. 6 golfer added that not many people know about Max’s “perfectionist” side.

Schauffele said, as quoted by Golf:

“I don’t know if everybody knows how much of a perfectionist Max is. He gets really into it. He loves talking shop. Big golf guy. And he’s constantly, constantly tweaking. He’d probably be out practicing and working for days at a time if he didn’t have to, like, eventually have lunch.”

Joe Skovron, longtime caddie for Rickie Fowler and now Tom Kim, is another name who came out to heap praise on Homa. Having called the golfer his close friend, the caddie pointed out that he likes the ‘growth mindset’ Max possesses. He added that the world No. 8 golfer is humble without even trying.

Speaking about Homa, Skovron said:

“What’s so unique about Max, and one of the things I like most about him, is that he feels zero entitlement, but he also has this growth mindset. He’s a guy who constantly wants to get better. He doesn’t have to pretend to be humble; that’s just who he is. But then he has this killer instinct, this needs to accomplish things, and he wants to go work for them. That combo just isn’t true of many people in any walk of life.”

It is pertinent to note that Max Homa is a favorite both on and off the field on the PGA Tour. The golfer is often passed off as being one of the highest-potential names in the sport.
