Moriya Jutanugarn won the Portland Classic 2024 on Sunday (August 4). The 30-year-old Thai golfer fired a six-under-par 66 in the final round. She finished 22-under 266, with a single bogey, at the Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Oregon. She bagged the winner’s paycheck of $262,500 from the event’s $1,750,000 prize purse.
The Portland Classic victory was Jutanugarn’s third career LPGA victory and her first individual triumph since the 2018 LA Open. Her most recent win came in 2021 at the Dow Championship, a team event she competed with sister Ariya.
It is pertinent to note that the Jutanugarn sisters have combined for 15 LPGA titles. The sister duo’s longtime caddie, Les Luark, was part of Moriya’s victory this weekend.
Moriya, also known as ‘Mo’, has now earned $509,475 from the 2024 season. The $262,500 paycheck pushed her LPGA career earnings to $7,353,850. She also earned valuable ranking points for the win. Opening up about the Portland Classic win, Jutanugarn noted that “every win is special.”
