The Players Championship came to an end on Sunday, with Scottie Scheffler lifting the trophy. The 26-year-old clinched his sixth PGA Tour win by finishing at 17 under after a 3-under 69 in the final round played at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Scheffler beat the likes of Tyrrell Hatton, Tom Hoge, and Viktor Hovland to take the Players Championship win on Sunday. With this, he earned the top prize of $4.5 million from the Tour’s flagship event. Furthermore, he also claimed back the World No. 1 ranking.

Meanwhile, runner-up Hatton fired a low final round to settle for $2.725 million as the solo second.

Hoge and Hovland shared T3 and earned $1.475 million each for their finishes. Hideki Matsuyama, who finished fifth on the Players Championship field, also bagged seven figures at $1.025 million. Kevin Kisner finished last - 75, on the leaderboard. He returned home with $48,750.

Notably, tournament favorite Rory McIlroy failed to make the cut and returned without a paycheck from the event.
