The 53-year-old was left disheartened and expressed his pain in a candid interview. Golf Monthly shared a quote from his interview highlighting his pain with a caption:

"What. It. Means. A heartbroken Rob Labritz gave a candid interview through tears after agonizingly losing his PGA Tour Champions card."
"I've got nothing to say. I played my a** off this year and played really crappy... You have to come out here and be firing on all cylinders because you will get swallowed alive. Unfortunately, I got swallowed alive," Labritz said.

The 53-year-old golfer revealed he missed an event due to a back injury and said you cannot expect to play well injured.

"I just had to miss an event due to my back injury, and, you know, there it is. You cannot expect to come out here and play well injured," Labritz said.

He then revealed if he would compete on the PGA Tour Champions again or take a bit of a break from the game.

"I don't know. I don't know. I'll figure it out. Q-School, maybe. I don't know. I got a lot of thinking to do, and... My game is getting better, but, unfortunately, it's not... I don't know what to say."

Rob Labritz gave his best throughout the season, but unfortunately couldn't make it to the playoffs and retain his PGA Tour Champions card. He missed this opportunity by a whisker as he finished 74th in the Charles Schwab Cup rankings while only the top 72 golfers made it to the final three events for the Schwab Cup playoffs.

"Yeah, I know I can win out here - that's what sucks. And I don't get another opportunity to do it unless I get through Q-School again. So, yeah, I'm hurting right now. As high as I was when I won Q-School, I'm as low as that now," Labritz said during the same interview.

Labritz competed in the 23 events this season and made 22 cuts but, unfortunately, he never finished in the top 10. His best finish was 21 at the US Senior Open Championship, and he eventually had just four top-25 finishes.

Hence, despite playing consistent golf, he missed out on retaining his Senior Tour card for the next season due to no top five or top 10 finishes in the entire season.
