Justin Thomas jokes about time zone struggle in New Year post

As we entered the year 2025, Justin Thomas took to social media to wish everyone a Happy New Year, just like many others. However, he also mentioned the struggle of adjusting to a different time zone in his post.

Thomas is currently in Kapalua, Hawaii, for the Sentry 2025, which will be played from Thursday, January 2 to Sunday, January 5 at the Kapalua Plantation Course. Hawaii is five hours behind Eastern Time, making it a bit challenging for players to adjust to the new time zone.

On Tuesday, December 31, Thomas took to X to share his New Year wishes.

"It’s 6:47 local time here in Hawaii," he wrote. "And I’m in bed. That is all. Happy New Year to all!"

Justin Thomas is in the final group to tee off at the Sentry 2025, Round 1. He will tee off at 11:39 am HST alongside Hideki Matsuyama and Adam Scott.

Thomas has a great record at Kapalua, as he is back here after missing the field last year. Although the Sentry does not have a 36-hole cut this time, he has never missed the weekend here anyway. In his past eight appearances, he has made five top-10s, including two wins and a runner-up finish.

Speaking of recent form, the 31-year-old golfer is regaining his form after a slump. He has a T2 finish and a third-place finish in his last two starts at the Zozo Championship and Hero World Challenge, respectively.

The 15-time PGA Tour champion has been winless for over two years. Last year, he made 16 cuts in 20 starts and claimed six top-10s, including a runner-up finish. He also finished 19th in the FedEx Cup, a significant improvement from his failure to qualify in 2023.
