At the 2024 Presidents Cup, Jim Furyk-led Team USA beat the International Team 18.5-11.5 to win their 10th consecutive title. In the event, which was held at the Royal Montreal Golf Club, every member of Team USA played an important role in the team's victory.

However, Kevin Kisner, who served as an assistant captain to Jim Furyk, recently spoke about the role of the unsung heroes. During an appearance on the Fore Play podcast, Kisner credited the scouts for their role and also mentioned they were referred to as the 'nerds' back when Kisner played.

Kevin Kisner said:

"You also don't know the matchups. We have no idea who they're putting where and we've got matchups we like. But the unsung heroes of that entire process are those scouts. We called them nerds when I played, and I am always like these think they know more than us. This is incredible. But after being on the other side, like, there is no chance I would ever be a captain without those nerds being on my team."

You can watch what Kevin Kisner noted in the video below:

Further, Kevin Kisner also revealed that the scouts helped calm the team at the tournament. At the 2024 Presidents Cup, Team USA's victory against the International Team was hard fought. While USA opened the tournament strong with a clean sweep in Round 1, the International Team gave a solid reply.

In the second round, the International Team registered their second-ever clean sweep in the event's history. While Team USA won Round 3 of the event, it all boiled down to the fourth round, where golfers from both teams played in singles matchups.
