Lilia Vu snatched a 2023 Honda LPGA Thailand win from Natthakritta Vongtaveelap, who was leading after the third round. The American golfer finished the final round at 64, to end the day with a score of under 22 to clinch the trophy.

Vu started the final round with a birdie on the first hole and then one on the third hole. She made eight birdies in the last round to register a one-shot victory.

Speaking about her performance at the LPGA Thailand event, Lilia Vu said:

“Yesterday I was thinking – my dad was telling me one good round tomorrow and I could win. That’s all I kept thinking about."

She went on to say:

"Today, I basically just blacked out and tried to birdie every single hole. It feels really good to get it done. I feel like I put a lot of pressure on myself at the end of last year, and during the off-season, I kind of just changed my mindset.
"I always knew I was going to win. I just got to let it happen. The more you hold on to something, I feel like it gets further away. I came close a lot towards the end of the last season, so I was just going to have fun and play my game and it would eventually work itself out.”
