LIV Golf's Australian expansion pauses despite Adelaide tournament earning top praise

The most lucrative competition this year on the Saudi calendar was the 2023 LIV Golf Adelaide. Nevertheless, despite drawing 70,000 spectators, the event's prospects in Australia for the next year appear uncertain. In 2024, there would be just one LIV Golf competition in Australia.

After Adelaide hosted the tournament this year, a number of Australian cities, namely Queensland and New South Wales, submitted bids to host the event in 2024.

However, according to a draft version of the LIV Golf schedule for 2024 that Sports Illustrated published, there would only be one tournament in Australia, which would be held in Adelaide. The Grange Course is expected to host the event again in 2024.

Noticeably, the LIV Golf Adelaide tournament was awarded the World Best Golf Event of the Year by the World Golf Awards. South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas shared the news on his X account, saying:

"It was our first. But not the last."

The Team Championship tournament last week marked the end of the 2023 season for LIV Golf. However, the schedule for 2024 has not yet been made public.
