Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri grabbed a rare opportunity to secure his Official Golf World Rankings. While Greg Norman has been trying to get the LIV Golf points to be included in the ranking points, the Saudi-backed series players are finding it hard to maintain their rankings, crucially missing the major tournament's qualification.

Amidst the battle, Lahiri managed to be in the top 100 by competing in breakaway tours. He maintained his ranking by playing in the Asian Tours and Indian Open.

LIV Golf failed to convince officials to gain points in the OWGR, resulting in the controversial series players plummeting down in the rankings with most of the top players jumping out of the top 100.

Despite being allowed to compete in major tournaments, the golfer misses out on the basic eligibility criteria due to a depletion in the rankings, retaining the special exemption as the only way to play in major events.

Anirban Lahiri, on the other hand, surprisingly, jumped into two positions to 97th after finishing T12 in the Saudi International, the Asian Tour.
