Ludvig Aberg is among the 24 PGA Tour players competing in the TGL (Tomorrow's Golf League). In a recent post by TGL Golf, Aberg said that his fellow PGA Tour star, Tom Kim was likely to have the most shot clock violations on TGL.

In TGL, a shot clock is a 40-second clock in which players have to hit their shot. If they fail to hit it in 40 seconds, they will be penalized with a one-stroke penalty. The inaugural edition of TGL will be played in January 2025, with the first match being played on Tuesday, January 7. The second match on January 14, while the third match will be played on Tuesday, January 21.

In a recent Q&A posted by TGL Golf on their Instagram handle, Ludvig Aberg, who joined the PGA Tour in 2023, was asked several questions regarding the league. He was asked if he was scared or excited about the shot clock, to which he responded:

"Excited."

Aberg was then asked which player was likely to have the most shot violations in TGL. He said (via TGL Golf):

"Tom (Kim), probably."

When asked who he thinks is the best driver in TGL, Aberg named the World No. 3:

"Rory (Mcllroy)"

The World No. 5 was then asked who is the worst 'trash talker'. He said:

"Well, the guys, they haven't really talked that much trash to me. I think I'll notice that a little bit later when we start it," Aberg said.

What is the format of TGL?

TGL is a team-based golf league that will blend real-world golf with virtual elements. Six teams will represent six different cities, with four players in each team. As per TGL's official website:

"TGL presented by SoFi is a new golf league, combining advanced technology with teams of top players from the PGA TOUR for two-hour weekly competitions in prime time starting in January 2025."

There will be two competitions- Triples (9 holes), played in alternate shots, and Singles (6 holes) where players will go head to head. Every hole will account for a point. The team with the maximum points after 15 holes will be declared the winner.

Further, in every match, each team will get two timeouts in both triples and singles. These competitions would be 2 hours long unlike the traditional golf. The matches will be aired live in prime time on ESPN and ESPN+ in the US. As per the official website of TGL:

"A diverse crew of accomplished superstars and budding young talent, all players will be mic’d up for matches, providing strategic insight and entertaining banter throughout the two-hour match."
