Matthew Anderson had a remarkable time playing on home soil this week at the 2025 RBC Canadian Open. He made his first cut on the PGA Tour after two rounds.

Anderson started his outing at the tournament on Thursday, June 5, with an opening round of 70. He then carded the second round of 65 to settle with a total of 5-under and made the cut by two strokes.

It was Anderson's first cut on the PGA Tour. He has previously played at the RBC Canadian Open two times in his career, but missed the cut in both. He played in the event in 2019, but after carding two back-to-back rounds of 74, he returned home, and last season, he missed the cut again but finally made the cut in 2025.

However, some big names, including Rory McIlroy, Max Homa, Justin Rose, and Sungjae Im, had a rough time on the greens this week and missed the cut after 36 holes. Cameron Champ, meanwhile, is in contention for the title. He played the opening round of 62, followed by the second round of 66, to maintain the lead in the game. Andrew Putnam settled in solo second place.
