Michael Block continues to make headlines in the world of golf, but this time, it is not for a sporting achievement. The pro, who made history at the 2023 PGA Championship, will be putting his efforts to good use through golf.

Block will star in a 100-Holes Hike at Pebble Beach to raise money for the Youth On Course organization. The event will take place on Monday, November 13. No details have been released about public participation or possible television coverage.

The player himself made the announcement via a post on his Instagram account. He said:

"It’s been an amazing year full of unforgettable moments both on and off the course. One thing is for sure - none of it would have been possible without golf. That’s why I’m teaming up with Youth on Course and Taylormade for the 100 Hole Hike to give back to the game."

He added:

"Youth on Course provides AFFORDABLE ACCESS to young golfers by subsidizing rounds so kids nationwide can play a network of 2,000 courses for $5 or less. Access to golf can turn dreams to realities, I’m living proof. If you are able to, please join me in donating by clicking the link in my bio to support Youth on Course."

A 100 Hole Hike is a challenge in which the golfer commits to playing 100 holes of golf on foot over the course of a day. It is usually done in support of a charitable cause, such as the one Michael Block will be doing.

What is Youth on Course, the organization Michael Block supports?

It is no coincidence that Michael Block supports Youth on Course. The organization is dedicated to helping underprivileged young players make their way in golf and, through the sport, in life.

The members of the organization, i.e., the young players, are supported through high school golf internships, college golf scholarships and similar strategies. The ultimate goal is to give them access to a career in golf.

Youth for Golf was born in 2006 in Northern California, where it achieved its goal of allowing the kids it supported to play on certain courses for $5 a round. At the time, it was a major breakthrough for inclusion in the sport.

Today, the organization, supported by Michael Block and many others, has grown to include 150,000 young players. It has given them access to 2,000 courses in the United States and Canada.

The organization's ambassadors include LPGA Tour major champion Jennifer Kupcho, fellow women's tour winner Lizette Salas and LIV Golf player Harold Varner III. Former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and social media influencer Roger Steele also serve in this capacity.
