Exploring Jason Day and Min Woo Lee's track record at the US Open

Both the Australian golfers who will tee it up at the Oakmont Country Club later this week are seeking to earn their maiden US Open title. Separated by 11 years in age, they will tee off the opening round in separate groups.

Min Woo Lee has made three starts at the US Open so far and has made it cut in every attempt. He recorded his best finish in 2023 at the Los Angeles Country Club's North Course, where he tied for fifth place. Lee posted scores of 69, 65, 74, and 67 to total 5 under par for the week.

Jason Day, meanwhile, will be making his 13th US Open appearance this week. Having missed four cuts in the past, his best finish was in 2011 and 2013. He made his tournament debut in 2011 at the challenging Congressional Country Club and registered a solo second-place finish - his best to date. With a total 72-hole score of 8 under par, the event also marked the Olympian's best score at the Major championship.

The 2013 US Open also saw Day tie for second place at the Merion Golf Club. He posted rounds of 70, 74, 68, and 71 to total 3 over par. He seeks redemption this year, having missed the cut in the last two editions of the Major.
