Tiger Woods' apparel line Sun Day Red recently launched a new 'Logo Collection' priced at $115. However, fans weren't impressed with the price and criticized it for being overpriced.
Tiger Woods is an 82-time PGA Tour winner, including 15 major championships. Earlier this year, he ended his long partnership with Nike and launched his own line named 'Sun Day Red.'
On Thursday, September 12, Nuclr Golf, a popular golf-tracking handle on X (formerly Twitter), shared a photograph of Sun Day Red's latest collection. Titled 'Logo Collection,' the price of the polos started at $115.
Fans online didn't look impressed with the latest Sun Day Red collection and criticized it for the design and high pricing. Here's a look at some reactions:
"One of the worst ever made," one fan wrote.
"They are trolling," another fan posted.
"Overpriced. So no. Never," one fan remarked.
"Man, I love Tiger but the entire SDR brand is a total flop. These look like the polos you can find in the clearance rack at TJ Maxx. Nobody is dropping $115 on that," this fan opined.
"Of course the millionaire caters to the other millionaires. He will NOT be getting a dime from me! Give me a $25 dollar polo and $95 worth of groceries!" one user commented.
"No. And I will make fun of my friends who show up wearing it. And I love Tiger." one fan posted.
Sun Day Red's president claims the initial sales exceeded expectations despite the pricing criticism by fans
Sun Day Red's President, Brad Blankinship, recently claimed that the sales of their collection exceeded expectations despite the high pricing.
"So much of what we first launched sold through much quicker than we could have imagined and this summer we’ve been working tirelessly to get sold out styles back in-stock while continuing to introduce new styles, like the Logo Collection," Blankinship said as per Forbers.
As for Tiger Woods, he was recently spotted at the Nexus Cup, the exclusive amateur team golf event he hosts annually at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey.
The 48-year-old golfer is not expected to make any official starts for the rest of the season, but he will likely compete at unofficial events like the Hero World Challenge and the PNC Championship later this year.
The 15-time major champion played five events this season, including four majors. He could only make the cut at the Masters Tournament, which was his 24th straight cut at Augusta National.
