PIF Governor Yasir Al Rumayyan reportedly paid surprise visits to the Omni PGA Frisco Resort's Fields Ranch East in North Texas, the venue for the PGA of America's new headquarters. The PIF Governor is in the USA for this week's LIV Golf Team Championship in Dallas. The Saudi Circuit event is scheduled to take place from September 20 to 22. However, ahead of that, Al Rumayyan was reportedly spotted at PGA Frisco, as per Golf.com.

His purpose for the visit is unknown, and an executive of the PGA of America told the media outlet that they had no idea about the governor's visit. The PGA Tour and PIF have been in talks about their potential deal, which has been in discussion since June 2023.

Last year, PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan announced an unexpected merger with PIF. However, the deal has since come under scrutiny from the government and is being investigated by government officials.

Meanwhile, the PGA Tour signed a whopping $3 billion contract with Sports Strategic Group earlier this year, but they are still in talks with the PIF. However, still, no conclusion has been reached regarding the deal.

Meanwhile, both circuits are continuing with their regular tournaments. This week, LIV Golf will conclude its third season after the Team Championship. Last week, they competed in the Chicago event, which was the final individual event of the season. Jon Rahm won the tournament and also topped the individual standings, winning $18 million in bonuses.

The PGA Tour, on the other hand, concluded with the Procore Championship last week, the first event of the Fall season, and next, their players will head for the Presidents Cup later this month.

Tiger Woods reportedly held a meeting with PIF amidst a negotiation deal

Tiger Woods reportedly held a meeting with PIF officials to discuss the merger. According to ESPN, the 15-time Major winner traveled to New York with fellow PGA Tour player and Policy Board Players director Adam Scott to meet with representatives of PIF. The report claimed that they discussed a deal worth more than $1 billion.

Following the meeting, Bloomberg reported that the deal between both circuits has "inched closer."

"Some PGA Tour players want Rahm - and others to hand back money they've made from LIV, the people said. Other options include paying fines to participate in events, giving to charity, or agreeing to forfeit any future career winnings on the PGA Tour, the people said," as per Bloomberg.

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods has been away from professional events for a while now. He last competed at The Open Championship but missed the cut. He will probably next compete at the Hero World Challenge and then at the PNC Championship later this year.
