Attending the Open Championship as a fan will be expensive. This is true at every Major tournament in golf every year. From food to merchandise, it is not cheap to do or get anything at these tournaments, no matter where they are played each time. That is also the case with the upcoming Open, as the alcohol menu has been revealed and it has some hefty prices. It also has a selection that fans aren't thrilled by.
The menu includes Whitstable Bay Pale Ale, Orchard View Cider, Nice Sauvignon Blanc, Prosecco Extra Dry, Ben Lomond Scottish Gin, Special Edition Royal Troon Gin, Special Edition Royal Troon Whiskey, Two Drifters Spiced Rum, and more.
Following this, fans posted their responses and there seems to be unhappiness at the prices. One fan simply posted:
"Disgusting pricing," one added.
"Scotland is littered with incredible craft breweries and we are serving to the people of the golfing world pints of Singha for 7.50!" another expressed.
"Absolutely ripping the pish with this. Golf for the people...aye keech. R&A need a right good look at themselves. Of course they will compare themselves to ''other major events'' but golf in Scotland IS NOT ELITIST!!" one yelled.
"Wasn't planning on alcohol anyway but that removes all doubt. Next on your task list, price of fish and chips," another said.
"It's basically theft," one added.
"Underwhelming selection of whiskey," another noted.
Alcoholic beverages usually aren't cheap anywhere, but golf fans online are frustrated by the price and selection for the Open Championship's menu this year.

Woods has played all the other Major tournaments this year and also played a few holes at the Genesis Invitational. He knows that no matter what happens this weekend, he can't qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs and will therefore be done for the season.
Via ESPN, he said:
"I've only got one more tournament this season. Even if I win the British Open, I don't think I'll be in the playoffs. Just one more event and then I'll come back whenever I come back."
He may play in the Hero World Challenge or PNC Championship like he's done in the past, but of the official PGA Tour or sanctioned events, the Open Championship is his last.
Woods has missed the cut in the last two Majors, though he said after the US Open that he felt like he was playing well enough to contend. He added that he knows he can't win from where he's at and that it was a little frustrating to be in that position.
