World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler remembered fellow PGA Tour player Grayson Murray after the latter's sudden demise at 30. Murray teed it up at this week's Charles Schwab Challenge in the field which also featured Scheffler.

However, Murray withdrew from the competition on Friday, May 24 due to illness. The next morning, PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan revealed the sad news of his demise.

Following the third round of the Charles Schwab Challenge, Scottie Scheffler opened up about Murray and said that it was a tough time for the late golfer's family.

Scheffler said (via CBS Sports):

"Yeah, obviously the news hasn't really sunk in quite yet, but I'm thinking about his family and praying hard for all of them. I can't imagine how difficult of a time this is. I got to know Grayson a bit better over the last six months or so, and yeah, really just, there's not really a way to put into words how sad and tragic it is. But I'm thinking about his family."

Grayson Murray passed away on Saturday morning, with the exact cause of his death being unknown. The golf world was shocked by the demise and remembered the golfer by paying him tribute on social media.

Peter Malnati played the first two rounds of the Charles Schwab Challenge with Grayson Murray. He was disheartened by the sad news and remembered him while talking to the media.

Malnati said (via CBS Sports):

"I didn't know Grayson all that well, but I spent the last two days with him. It's funny, we get so worked up out here about a bad break here or a good break there. We're so competitive. We're so competitive out here. We all want to beat each other. Then something like this happens, and you realize, 'We're all just humans.'"

Justin Thomas prayed for the departed soul by sharing a post on his X (Twitter account). He wrote:

"Speechless to hear about Grayson. Guy had been through so many ups and downs to get where he was. I hurt so much for his family and the people closest to him. My condolences and deepest sympathies."

LIV golfer Bubba Watson tweeted:

"Very sad to hear the news of Grayson Murray’s passing today. Life is so fragile… I was just hugging you at the Masters, telling you how proud of you I am. Thankful to have known you. My deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. He will be missed."

Grayson Murray was successful on the PGA Tour. He won two events on the circuit. His second win on the series came earlier this year at the Sony Open when he defeated An Byeong Hun and Keegan Bradley in a playoff.

Although the golf star left for the heavenly adobe, he will always be remembered by his fans and family members.
