Tiger Woods' clothing brand, Sun Day Red, recently unveiled a new polo t-shirt i.e., TW Performance Solo through a post on social media. Woods himself was featured in one of the pictures of the product posted by the brand's official X account.
In one of the three pictures, Tiger is posing mid-swing, wearing the teal polo shirt with the Sun Day Red logo. The shirt is sleek and the collar and the black brand logo complete the look. In one picture, there is a close-up of the fabric and logo on the shirt while another shows the t-shirt suspended mid-air.
The TW Performance Solo is available in six colours, blue, yellow, teal, pink, gray, and coral. Here's a description of the product:
"Designed with direct input from golf’s keenest competitor, the TW Performance Polo is built to help you handle the heat of competing, on course and off. Its journey from drawing board to your drawer has consisted of continuous testing, adjusting, tweaking and refining in pursuit of a single goal: Tiger’s satisfaction."
Fans had varied reactions to the unveiling of the product. Some criticized the exorbitant prices on the website while some appreciated the product.
"Sweet, make it cheaper," one fan wrote.
"Would love some tiger merch. Could you just change the name, logo, and make it a reasonable price?" another fan wrote.
One fan praised the product and commented:
"Love that color. (heart emoji) Hope you’re healing well. Onward and upward!"
The TW Performance Solo is available at a price of $125. Sun Day Red was launched by Tiger Woods in collaboration with TaylorMade Golf in February 2024 and started offering products in May. It offers a range of golf apparel including polos, t-shirts, hoodies, sweaters, bottoms, jackets and vests. It also offers accessories like golf bags, headcovers, and towels.
Tiger Woods' Sun Day Red logo lands in legal trouble
In September, Tigeraire, a cooling product company, accused Tiger Woods' Sun Day Red of copying its leaping tiger logo. Sun Day Red has a tiger logo with 15 stripes representing the 15 Major Championships won by Woods so far in his career.
Tigeraire has filed a motion of opposition to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office challenging the approval of Sun Day Red's trademark application. In the court filing, it said (via Golf Digest):
"The actions of SDR, TaylorMade and Tiger Woods blatantly ignore Tigeraire’s long-standing protected mark, brand and identity, violate federal and state intellectual property law, and disregard the consumer confusion their actions create."
Tiger Woods' legal team has denied the accusation and sued Tigeraire for aiming to financially benefit from Sun Day Red through unfounded legal threats and excessive demands.
