The 2025 Travelers Championship kicks off on June 19 at TPC River Highlands, Cromwell. The event is expected to feature a star-studded field, including golfers such as World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and 2025 US Open winner J.J. Spaun.
Established in 1952, the Travelers Championship is the second-most attended PGA Tour event. Last year, Scheffler clinched the title after winning a playoff against Tom Kim. The year before that, Keegan Bradley won the tournament three strokes ahead of Zac Blair and Brian Harman.
This time around, defending champion Scottie Scheffler and World No. 2 golfer Rory McIlroy are favored to win. However, several other golfers also stand a chance at lifting the trophy at TPC River Highlands
5 golfers who could clinch the 2025 Travelers Championship title
#1 Viktor Hovland
Norwegian golfer Viktor Hovland was in close contention at the 2025 US Open, narrowly missing the title by three strokes. This year, he won the Valspar Championship with an 11-under and made the cut at the Masters Tournament and the PGA Championship.
Last year, Hovland teed off the Travelers Championship and tied for 20th place with Rickie Fowler and Seamus Power. This week, he has odds of +3500 to clinch the title.
#2 Sam Burns
Sam Burns lost the 2025 RBC Canadian Open title after a playoff against Ryan Fox. He was also in contention at the US Open but had a disappointing final round and eventually tied for seventh place after he was denied relief.
The 28-year-old golfer will be chasing his sixth PGA Tour win at the 2025 Travelers Championship. He has had seven top-20 finishes this season and has odds of +4000 to win at TPC River Highlands.
#3 Keegan Bradley
Seven-time PGA Tour winner Keegan Bradley has made the cut in every tournament this year except the Masters Tournament. With four top-10 finishes in 2025, he has odds of +4500 to clinch the 2025 Travelers Championship.
Last year, Bradley tied for 39th position at the Travelers Championship after finishing the tournament with an 8-under 272 score. In 2023, he won the tournament by three strokes and finished in second place in 2019. There’s a good chance he could win the tournament for a second time this year.
#4 Sepp Straka
Sepp Straka heads into the 2025 Travelers Championship with odds of +4000 to win, which makes him an excellent pick. He has won two PGA Tour events this season alone and has made five top-10 finishes.
Straka is hoping to claim his fifth PGA Tour title of the year at Cromwell. Last year, he finished the tournament tied for 23rd position.
#5 J.J. Spaun
2025 US Open champion J.J. Spaun won his first major championship title after draining an incredible 65-footer at Oakmont on Sunday. He placed second at the 2025 Cognizant Classic and lost the Players Championship title after a playoff against Rory McIlroy.
