Viktor Hovland commits to DP World Tour event while playing The Sentry despite injury woes

Although Viktor Hovland arrived at the Sentry 2025 with an injury scare, he has committed to the DP World Tour's Hero Dubai Desert Classic. This move comes as a relief to golf fans, as his toe injury hasn't affected his schedule.

Hovland is currently in Kapalua, Hawaii, for the Sentry 2025 and is tied for 29th at 7-under after two rounds. While he has been performing well, his position in the tournament appeared doubtful after he injured his toe by hitting it against a bed. Nevertheless, he didn't withdraw from the tournament and has now registered for another event.

On Saturday, January 4, the DP World Tour confirmed Viktor Hovland's participation in the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. The event is scheduled to take place from January 16 to 19 at the Emirates Golf Club.

This is the first time Hovland is returning to the Hero Dubai Desert Classic since 2022, where he beat Richard Bland in a playoff to win his second title on DP World Tour.
