The 2025 US Open is being held at Oakmont Country Club, which has, over the years, proved to be a difficult course to maneuver. Oakmont Club's rough is lengthy and thick, making it difficult to take a shot. Apart from that, the course has a somewhat tricky design that is centered on a risk-versus-reward scenario. Victor Perez, a three-time European Tour winner, recently took the risk and recorded the tournament's most memorable moment so far.

Only a few golfers finished the first round of the US Open with strokes under par. This demonstrates how tough Oakmont is, as executing a perfect shot requires not just amazing skills but also great luck. Victor Perez had this luck in his corner during the second round of the US Open when he hit the tee shot at hole 6 and aced the par-3, 162-yard hole.

Victor Perez hit a terrific shot, and the ball swung and bounced into the hole thanks to the air current. The golfer was so excited about this achievement that he and his caddie did a chest bump as a celebratory gesture. The crowd in attendance was equally ecstatic after this memorable moment occurred.

The tournament's official X account announced this milestone with a post that stated:

"🚨 ACE ALERT 🚨 Victor Perez 🇫🇷 with a great shot and an even better celebration!"

Interestingly, this is only the second-ever ace in the Oakmont course's history. Not only that, but it is the 49th ace in the history of the US Open. Before Perez, Sepp Straka hit a hole-in-one on hole 9 at Pinehurst No. 2 during the US Open 2024. On the other hand, the only person to record an ace at Oakmont during the US Open was Scott Simpson, who achieved the feat on the 16th hole in 1983.
