Jon Rahm let his frustration get the better of him during the second round of the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club. After missing a short putt late in his round, the former U.S. Open champion was caught on a hot mic, dropping a loud F-bomb on the course.
Rahm had just made a bogey on the 18th to finish with a 5-over 75 for the day, bringing him to 4-over for the tournament at the halfway mark. The moment of frustration came after he burned the edge on another putt and bent over with his hands on his knees before rising up and shouting in disbelief. Watch it here:
His second round featured only one birdie, which came on the par-5 12th hole. The rest of the day saw him struggle, carding four bogeys and a double bogey on the par-4 11th.
Speaking after his round, the two-time major winner said:
“I'm too annoyed and too mad right now. Very frustrated. Very few rounds of golf I played in my life where I think I hit good putts and they didn't sniff the hole, so it's frustrating.”
Oakmont has been tough on many players this week. Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau also showed signs of frustration during Friday’s round. Before the tournament, Rahm had already predicted the challenge, saying:
"It's going to be a nice test, a difficult test. And I think one of the truest representations of what a US Open is all about."
Jon Rahm, who won the U.S. Open in 2021 with a total score of 278 (6-under par), is currently tied for 23rd after two rounds.
