WATCH: Lexi Thompson makes incredible birdie to go 1 up at the 2024 Solheim Cup

Lexi Thompson is competing in her seventh Solheim Cup at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. She started her campaign on Day 1 in the afternoon fourball session. Thompson was paired with Alison Lee, but unfortunately lost the match to Anna Nordqvist and Madelene Sagstrom with a score of 5&6.

On Day 2, Lexi Thompson is paired with Lauren Coughlin in the morning foursome session and has made a promising start with a birdie on the second hole to go one-up against Maja Stark and Georgia Hall.

Lexi Thompson and Lauren Coughlin teed off in the third game of the game day and made a resonable start with a tied finish on the first hole. On the second hole, Lexi Thompson and Lauren Coughlin took the lead as Thompson drained a challenging long birdie.

Since then, they have managed to maintain a marginal lead over Maja Stark and Georgia Hall. After seven holes, Thompson and Coughlin are one-up, and we can expect a cliffhanger of a finish.

This is the only game where Team USA is leading this morning, as Team Europe has maintained a significant lead in the remaining three games and are looking to make a comeback after having a poor start to the 2024 Solheim Cup on Friday.

Team USA made a phenomenal start to the 2024 Solheim Cup. After day one, Team USA is leading the Solheim Cup with a score of 6&2 as they registered 3 victories in the morning alternate shot foursome session and 3 victories in the afternoon fourball session.

In the morning session, Ally Ewing and Jennifer Kupcho were the only Team USA golfers who lost the match as Emily Pedersen and Maja Streak remained 2 up and won the event.

In the afternoon session, Alison Lee and Lexi Thompson lost their match as Anna Nordqvist and Madelene Sagstrom registered a one-sided win with a score of 6&5.
