Who is Casey Jarvis? All you need to know about the 20-yo South African golfer

Casey Jarvis, the 20-year-old golfer from South Africa, is making waves on the DP World Tour. Jarvis is currently competing in the ISPS Handa Championship being held at Taiheiyo Club Gotemba Course from April 25 to 28.

Jarvis is currently leading the scoreboard after the third round. On Saturday, he carded a bogey-free 64. He has a score of 13 under par. At second is German's Yannick Paul who carded 68 in third round and has a score of 12 under par. The third position is shared by five golfers.

Casey Jarvis was born in 2002 in Boksburg, South Africa. In 2019, Jarvis won Junior Golf World Cup while representing South Africa. As per the European Tour website, Jarvis, at 17 in 2020, secured victory in South Africa's renowned 'Triple Crown' as an amateur. He has also won at the South African Amateur, SA Amateur Stroke play, and the African Amateur tournaments.

Last year, he etched his name in record books by scoring the lowest round ever recorded when he carded a 59 at Dainfairn. He earned the title of Rookie of the Year for the 2022-23 season after he finished seventh in the order of merit.

Casey Jarvis won the 2022 Altron Big Easy Tour 6 as an amateur with a margin of four strokes over Dayne Moore. He turned professional in August 2022. His first win came in 2023 Euram Bank Open when he got better of Euan Walker by one stroke.

He has finished runner up in several tournaments like 2023 Copenhagen Challenge, 2023 SDC Open, and D+D Real Czech Challenge. Because of his last year's performance he got the DP World Tour card for 2024.

Casey Jarvis is currently ranked 295th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
