Marcus Kinhult carded seven birdies and three bogeys to climb to the top of the leaderboard at the Alfred Dunhill Championship. The Swede is seeking his second win on the DP World Tour and his first since 2019 (the British Masters).

Speaking to the DP World Tour News Service after his second round performance, Kinhult said:

"It was a good day so I'm happy. Yesterday was really good, I'm super happy with that round. I feel like I played well today also but I didn't quite take advantage of the par fives today."

Dean Burmester and Charl Schwartzel were among the players to make significant moves up the leaderboard in the second round of the Alfred Dunhill Championship. Burmester climbed 17 places after carding six birdies and one bogey, while Schwartzel moved up 31 places after carding two eagles, five birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey.

Defending champion Louis Oosthuizen, captain of LIV Golf's Stinger GC team which includes Burmester and Schwartzel, was among the top players to miss the cut. Also in this group is Race to Dubai 2024 runner-up Thriston Lawrence and eight-time DP World Tour winner and former LIV golfer Bernd Wiesberger.
