Three-time LPGA Tour winner in the 2024 season, major champion, and one of the top players in the field, Hannah Green, is tied for third, one stroke off the lead. The Australian carded seven birdies and one bogey despite still recovering from the jet lag associated with her recent trip from America.

Eight other players round out the top 10 at the Australian Open, including two-time major champion Jiyai Shin and local stars Steph Kyriacou and Grace Kim.

Other major champions in the field of the Australian Open are American Danielle Kang and local idol Minjee Lee. Both started the event below expectations, carding 1-over and 2-over respectively.
