Who is leading the 2024 Open Championship after Day 2? Leaderboard explored

The second round of the 2024 Open Championship was completed on Friday, July 19 at Royal Troon Golf Club. The cut line after 36 holes was drawn at 6 over par, and 80 players made it.

Shane Lowry played the second round of The Open Championship with five birdies, one bogey and one double bogey. His double came on the 11th hole, but the Irishman bounced back in style, parring the next four holes to finish in birdie - par - birdie.

Several of the top-ranked players improved their scores from the previous day and moved up in the leaderboard of the Open Championship. Billy Horschel climbed 27 places to T4, while Jason Day and Patrick Cantlay improved 35 places to T7. Dustin Johnson climbed 56 places to T13.

The opposite was true for Tyrrell Hatton, who fell 39 places to miss the cut. Fellow countryman Matt Fitzpatrick fell 58 places to make the cut on the number.
