With this gold medal win, Lydia Ko has now secured a medal in every Olympic since golf's re-introduction. Previously, the 27-year-old from New Zealand claimed silver in Rio and bronze in Tokyo. This victory also earns her the final point needed to fulfill the LPGA Hall of Fame's 27-point criteria.

Rose Zhang was the top-ranked American golfer, finishing tied for ninth with a score of -4. Nelly Korda finished T22, while Lilia Vu, who had taken an early lead, ended up in a disappointing tie for 36th. Morgane Metraux, the leader after the third round, finished tied for 18th alongside home favorite Celine Boutier.
