LIV Golf UK was the latest event on the Saudi-backed tour, and it was Spanish professional Jon Rahm who came out on top after three rounds of action. This was Rahm's first victory of the season and also his first win since signing with LIV at the beginning of the year.

To triumph at LIV Golf UK, Jon Rahm had to defeat Tyrell Hatton. While his first victory in LIV Golf was a massive moment for Rahm, he was spotted crying after his win over his teammate. After Hatton missed his putt, cameras focused on Rahm who was visibly emotional.

Post his victory at LIV Golf UK, Jon Rahm also spoke about competing against his best friend. While Rahm admitted there is always a selfish desire to win, he spoke about how it felt having a friend paired up against him. Rahm said:

“Obviously you always want to win. Selfishly you always want to get that done,” Rahm said. “But you don’t want to see a teammate and a good friend missing a putt for that to happen for me."

He also added:

“It’s a bit of an unusual situation that I don’t think any of us are used to. Team wins, I win individually, but still, having so much respect for Tyrrell, somebody who’s a good friend and somebody I’ve experienced a lot with — I can’t really celebrate because I still feel for him for finishing like that."

The victory at LIV Golf UK was Rahm's first win of the year after finishing in the top 10 nine times this season. Golf fans will see him in action next at the 2024 Olympics, where will represent Spain.
