WATCH: Nicolai Højgaard falls short of a hole-in-one by inches at the Scottish Open

The 2024 Scottish Open is underway at The Renaissance Golf Club. Yesterday, golf fans witnessed Round 1 of the competition and were treated to some brilliant golf by the likes of Ludvig Aberg and Nicolai Højgaard to name a few. In Round 2, the latter was again close to creating a memorable moment.

In Round 2 of the 2024 Scottish Open, Nicolai Højgaard came close to making a hole-in-one. On the par-3 6th hole, Højgaard hit a tee shot which seemed like it would go inside the hole. However, the ball missed the hole by 5 inches. Regardless, Højgaard's efforts were well applauded and he moved to 5-under.

Yesterday in Round 1, Nicolai Højgaard played decent golf to finish T23. After Round 1 at The Renaissance Golf Club, Højgaard carded a score of 4-under to find himself tied with 1-time PGA Tour winner Sahith Theegala and Francesco Molinari to name a few. Højgaard comes into this tournament after playing at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

In the event held at the Detroit Golf Club, Højgaard finished in 66th place. However, given his start at the 2024 Scottish Open, it seems the Danish golfer will be able to secure a top-20 finish if he is able to keep up the golf he has been playing until now.
